The Real Borf
I couldn’t believe it when I saw these. They’re on the same lamppost. I love them — even more now that I read the Post article about the artist. One thing he said was that the Borf thing saved his life. Borf is about a friend who killed himself — I believe that’s him. Anyhow, art saves lives. That’s true. And while this site hasn’t saved my life — it has made it much, much better. I get so much satisfaction finding and documenting other people’s art, it’s kinda crazy.

This mural is monumental in person. I couldn’t capture it in a single frame, because of the fence across the alley. It was a very grey morning when I took these photos. The kids must look amazing when they are playing in the sun.

Sometimes the base of a lamp post is really a blank canvass. At least some creative person in Woodley Park thinks so. I would never have known these beauties existed along Connecticut Ave, had I not started riding my bike to work. They brighten my commute every day.
